GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a vastly successful Birmingham based UK and European manufacturer and supplier.

We are recruiting on their behalf for a Stock Manager to join their head office in Birmingham, on a full-time permanent contract.

The working hours for this position are Monday – Friday 09:00am – 17:30pm.

As Stock Manager, you will focus predominantly on stock management performance. You will review and report stock value and availability across the function to shareholder level and reporting into the Head of Purchasing, this role will have autonomy in managing a category of accounts and management of stock controllers, within the wider team.

The ideal candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate several years’ experience within a stock control, inventory management or demand planning role within a fast-paced supply chain and be experienced in managing large numbers of varied products

Stock Manager main duties:

  • Review and monitor stock value with stock availability every morning
  • Stock controller for all retail accounts across MRP involving all day to day processes
  • Forecasting
  • Placing purchase orders
  • Chasing order confirmations / confirming delivery dates
  • Booking in deliveries onto Quickbase
  • Ensure all NCRC issues are distributed to the correct stock controller every morning.
  • Act as an escalation point both within and outside the business.
  • Manage new retail customers into the business.
  • Work closely with the Paper Factory to ensure one point of communication/escalation.
  • Conference calls with ENG every Friday to run through orders and capacity.
  • Work closely with the account managers to ensure they are following the correct processes in regards to new lines/de-listing products to avoid slow moving/overstocks on lines.
  • Work with internal departments to further better processes: E.G. – Air freight approval sign off, prioritising urgent containers into the business, ensuring all new/MTO lines we have written approval from the customer.
  • Manage any high-risk projects until resolved 

 

Stock Manager desired skills and experience:

 

  • Have several years’ experience within a stock control, inventory management or demand planning role within a fast-paced supply chain and be experienced in managing large numbers of products within an MRP group
  • Be able to articulate the factors involved in ensuring orders are placed at the right time and at the right quantity
  • Experience of SAP or similar MRP systems
  • Be passionate about ensuring availability of product
  • Be Service focused
  • Be highly analytical and numerate
  • Be able to form strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers

 

The successful Stock Manager can expect to receive a salary of £40,000 plus additional company benefits and great career prospects.
