GMP Recruitment are proud to partner a world leading organisation that specialise in advanced materials development and production. We are recruiting on their behalf for a Process Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent contract in Stourport, Worcestershire.

As Process Engineer you will provide engineering support to the business to help deliver solutions / projects which will add benefit to the overall operational site performance. This position is varied and challenging and dependent upon the operational requirement, will cover most disciplines of process engineering.

To be considered for this position you must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a production environment in a Process Engineering role, utilising lean manufacturing tools and techniques, including, but not limited to; value stream mapping, 6S, KanBan and Kaizen.

Process Engineer main duties:

  • Responsible for increasing manufacturing productivity and develop countermeasures that will be in line with the business’s strategic ambitions
  • Collaborate with supplier representatives to ensure the newest technology and consumables are being used to drive process and quality efficiency
  • Lead / attend engineering / technical review meetings and present work status and provide feedback where required
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement on the shop floor, by working with and developing the skills of equipment setters and operators
  • Responsible for NPI, the procurement of production equipment, ancillaries, managing first off production trials with the operations and quality teams
  • Responsible for supporting production teams on daily issues ensuring plant/processes remain operational
  • To work with the operations management to generate and manage gross margin improvement plans and proactively challenge existing work practices to support the annual business plan
  • You will be committed to and champion a strong EHS culture on site
  • To support a strong culture of near miss reporting across all staff to assist in driving improvements to the site safety performance

 

Process Engineer essential skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a production environment in a Process Engineering role utilising lean manufacturing tools and techniques, including, but not limited to; value stream mapping, 6S, KanBan and Kaizen
  • Experience in project delivery and problem solving
  • Experience in Process Engineering in an ISO 9001 environment
  • Experience of operating within a strong H&S Culture
  • Experience utilising quality tools and Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques including, but not limited to; FMEA, SPC, Capability studies, DoE, 8D, Lean Sigma & Control Plans
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment

 

This position is Monday –Thursday 08:00am – 16:30pm and an early finish on Friday’s of 13:00pm
