GMP Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client in Ledbury for an Industrial Sewing Machinist to join a highly successful, rapidly expanding organisation.
Our client is an NHS approved, market leading company making inspirational and innovate products for over sixty years. The role is to operate our Industrial Single Needle and Over Locking Machines and, occasionally, cut fabrics that are required for the product. The work will also involve operating our Embroidery Machine
The successful candidate will ideally be a time served and experienced machinist, however, training will be provided for those with less experience and the desire to expand their skill set.
Industrial Sewing Machinist duties:
- To cut and sew products to the required standards and produce company products for despatch.
- Inspect any cloth before cutting for blemishes/irregularities, bring to attention of Supervisor any concerns
- Upholster single items seats, arms and carry out duties of a light assembly nature
- Produce company products cushions, sponges to the specified process and procedures, ensuring that quality is acceptable.
- Ensure that finished products are stored and labelled in a clean and safe condition and completed to company’s standards using the correct thread, zips etc
- Report any shortages of consumable items to Supervisor which could cause production delays
- Help box and pack small products
- Always observe the company’s safety policy and arrangements, where safety equipment, especially about cloth cutting, has been issued it must always be used.
- Ensure that conversant with the requirements/details of any job before commencement.
- Ensure that any equipment supplied is in a safe condition and if not bring to Supervisors attention.
- Ensure that working area is kept in a tidy condition
This is a full time, permanent position, Monday – Thursday 08:00am – 17:00pm and Friday 08:00am – 13:00pm.
This role comes with a highly competitive salary up to 25K which is pending experience, plus excellent fringe benefits.
