GMP Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client in Kidderminster for a professional for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team o a full time, permanent basis.

Our client is a highly recognisable and hugely successful Engineering business that has seen substantial growth and development in recent years.

As Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical design of engine/powertrain/inverter/battery and e-motor test bed solutions for major vehicle manufactures and tier one suppliers into the automotive or other industries.

 

To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate working knowledge of ePLAN P8, ideally Version 2.9. with the ability to produce electrical system schematics and electrical design of control panel layouts.

 

Electrical Design Engineer main duties:

 

  • To schedule and attend meetings with customers and suppliers in the definition of the requirements for the design
  • To be responsible for producing the electrical system schematics in ePLAN P8
  • To be responsible for the electrical design of control panel layouts
  • To ensure the production of Engineering Parts Lists
  • Understand the I/O requirements
  • To ensure the production of specifications for electrical sub-contractors/control panel manufacturers
  • To deliver a quality on-time and within budget design to the Engineering Manager/Project Manager
  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job and level of responsibility

 

Electrical Design Engineer desired skills and experience:

 

  • Good working knowledge of ePLAN P8, ideally Version 2.9.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD LT 2018 is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Office applications with good IT skills
  • Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems and the connectivity of instrumentation sensors
  • Knowledge of BS EN 60204-1
  • Experience of the machinery directive 2006/42/EC and the associated Safety System Standard EN ISO 13849-1
  • Knowledge of AC Vector Drive Systems is an advantage
  • Experience in the design of Form 2-4 Motor Control Centres, together with a background knowledge of integrating automation systems into facility PLC/BMS systems would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience in working with IET Requirements for Electrical Installations: BS 7671:2018 – 18th Edition would also be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of CE/CAUK Marking requirements, including Hazard Risk Assessments, Low Voltage & EMC Directives

 

This is a full time, permanent position and has the ability to start the successful candidate immediately in the New Year.

 

In return for all the above you will be rewarded with a salary of up to £40,000 which is commensurate with experience, plus excellent fringe benefits
