GMP Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client in Evesham for a Controls Engineer to join their ever-growing and highly successful business.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday – Friday offering a salary of £40,000.

Our client is a specialist manufacturing provider, working globally across a range of manufacturing industries, including food, nutrition, pharmaceutical, chemical, and metal powders.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and passionate Controls Engineer with engineering experience gained within the process industry and a solid understanding of controls systems and manufacturing methods

Controls Engineer main duties:

 

  • Conceptual design of integrated process systems
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and outline specifications
  • Assisting Sales present/sell the solution to clients when required
  • Writing detailed functional design specifications
  • Maintaining the standard portfolio of functional design specifications
  • Design of system architecture, network connections and interfaces primarily Ethernet, Devicenet and Profibus.
  • Producing detailed manufacturing specifications, including controls and panel drawings, both for electrical and pneumatic systems utilising an ACAD Electrical design package.
  • Production of PLC software (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi as a minimum)
  • Production of software in a modular and function orientated manner
  • Production of HMI software
  • Familiarity with SCADA
  • Organisation and execution of component and system tests, both in our works and on site
  • Developing new products and methods of control

Controls Engineer desired skills and experience

  • An excellent problem solver with at least 5 years Engineering experience gained within the process industry.
  • Great design flair, be able to demonstrate an impressive portfolio of previous work
  • Qualified with a good electrical/controls Engineering degree
  • A good understanding of controls systems and manufacturing methods
  • Familiar with current legislation and best practice
  • Experienced in the use of computer aided design and software development
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, can work on own initiative, or as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic, well organised and has an attention for detail
  • A willingness to work flexible hours and overseas travel when required
