GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a highly recognisable, leading manufacturer located in Redditch. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a number of people to join their team as a CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer on a full time, permanent, contract.

The standard working hours for this position will be Monday – Thursday, 08:30am – 17:30pm with an early finish on Friday at 16:00pm. This position is a site based role with a competitive salary of up to £35,000 per annum, dependant on expereince plus additional company benefits.

The CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer will assist the Manufacturing Group Leaders in the manufacturing of parts through the production process, ensuring planned times for setting and manufacturing are met or improved; and high quality parts produced within required performance, cost and delivery targets.

CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer main duties:

  • Write, test, and adjust CNC programmes to meet production requirements.

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring correct tooling, fixtures, and materials are in place.

  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, models, and specifications to produce high-quality components.

  • Monitor machine operations, making adjustments as required to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

  • Perform precision machining within tight tolerances and in line with customer and project deadlines.

  • Conduct routine inspections and measurements of finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Maintain tooling and equipment in optimal working condition, reporting or addressing any issues promptly.

  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to optimise production processes and resolve technical challenges.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and workplace procedures at all times.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machining performance and reduce waste.

CNC Setter/Operator/Programmer desired skills and experience:

  • Strong competency with Fanuc operating controls.

  • Proven background in CNC setting, operating, and programming.

  • Experience with offline programming software (preferred).

  • Ability to work confidently with a variety of materials (e.g., metals, alloys, plastics).

  • Skilled in producing both low- and high-volume components while maintaining quality and efficiency.

  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and time management skills in fast-paced environments.
