GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a highly successful engineering company located in Pershore, Worcestershire. We are currently supporting their recruitment for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent contract.

As Maintenance Engineer your main job will be to maintain and repair the manufacturing equipment and facilities onsite to best in class standards and support the provision of good EHS practices by ensuring our equipment and facilities are safe, healthy and environmentally sound. You will also develop and implement an effective Planned Maintenance system for plant and equipment on stie and undertake any other suitable tasks within maintenance as required.

This position would be best suited to a candidate that can demonstrate -5 years’ experience in similar role – with both electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.


Maintenance Engineer main duties:

  • Carry out general maintenance and repairs to key equipment and facilities in order to maintain the manufacturing capability of the facility - for example machine repairs (hydraulics, motors, pumps, conveyor systems, laser cutting, presses, compressors, welding equipment) and facilities improvements (plumbing, electrical work, PA Testing, installations, lighting etc).
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and properly diagnose and resolve failures.
  • Project manage equipment installation and facilities upgrades and improvements with sub-contractors as required.
  • Conduct weekly fire alarm/lighting testing & evacuation.
  • Control maintenance stores and tooling.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Planned Maintenance system – complete PM’s according to schedule.
  • Carry out site inductions with contractors including supervision where required.
  • Have a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a changing environment as required.
  • Maintain a professional approach to situations, build and maintain good relations with internal and external stakeholders.


Maintenance Engineer desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role – with both electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
  • Preferably with experience of maintaining equipment such as laser cutter, brake press, welding equipment, paint plant.
  • Experience of facilities maintenance also required.
  • Self-starter with a real bias for action and sense of urgency.
  • Well organised with a structured and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Customer focused with a real desire to deliver best in class quality in their area of responsibility.

The working hours for this position are Monday – Thursday 07:45am – 17:15pm and a Friday finish of 13:00pm.

For all the above requirements you will receive a highly competitive basic salary, up to £15 p/h which is commensurate with experience, plus additional company fringe benefits.
