GMP Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client in Worcester for a Junior Regional Purchaser to join their friendly and customer focussed team, on a full time, permanent contract.
Our client is a highly recognisable and hugely successful producer and distributor of speciality foods and are growing through a substantial period of growth.
Reporting to the Regional Purchasing Team Leader, the successful candidate will perform purchasing administrative duties as required and provide customers with a faultless service.
The ideal candidate for this position will be an individual that is strong with maths and or numbers and can demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
Due to the location of the office, you must have transportation.

Junior Regional Purchaser main duties:
- You will double check booking in from goods in is correct and advise/amend when it is not.
- Book goods in, match delivery paperwork and forward onto main office in London, daily.
- You will investigate any queries relating to previous deliveries
- Chase up late deliveries and communicate any problems to suppliers
- Carry out daily purchasing of stock from external and internal suppliers
- Answer product or supplier queries from Customer Services and Account Managers.
- Undertake filing, faxing and other administrative duties as and when required
- Manage administration of collections for Southern and Northern depots
- Investigate and report on shortages every morning
- Check London stock transfer paperwork after warehouse count and make any necessary investigations and adjustments
Junior Regional Purchaser desired skills and experience:
- You will demonstrate a passion or interest in numbers or mathematics
- Possess exceptional customer and client service skills
- IT Proficient with working understanding of Microsoft packages
- Have a good telephone manner and be able to communicate with clients and colleagues confidently over the phone
- Be able to develop strong working relationships
- Prioritise and be able to complete tasks promptly and effectively
This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday – Friday 08:00am – 16:30pm.
An immediate start is available for the successful candidate.
In return for the above you will be rewarded a salary of £19-21K which is commensurate with experience, plus excellent fringe benefits.
