GMP Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client in Worcestershire for a self-motivated and capable Junior Electrical Controls and Commissioning Engineer to join their fantastic business on a full time, permanent contract, assisting in the design, assembly and commissioning of turnkey automated systems.

Our client is a lead provider of automation engineering services and solutions across a wide range of industries, including automotive, rail, aerospace, pharmaceutical, food and beverage.

Our client is currently going through a substantial period of growth and have just acquired new offices in the Kidderminster area, but they are currently still working from their Worcester base until the first part of the New Year in 2022.  The role will be based in Worcestershire but may involve short periods of work at client facilities dependent upon project requirements.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone looking to progress their career within Electrical Controls and Commissioning or anyone looking to advance from 2 – 3 years in an Assembling or designing systems.

Junior Electrical Controls and Commissioning Engineer main duties:

  • Contributing to system-level design specifications
  • Contributing to external & internal design reviews
  • Follow all safety procedures and help support the company safety culture
  • Design and build of electrical control systems
  • System integration and commissioning
  • Documentation

Junior Electrical Controls and Commissioning Engineer desired skills and experience:

  • Experience in the assembly of electrical panels and wiring of machinery.
  • Experience in PLCs and basic electrical and electronic trouble shooting.
  • Knowledge of component parts including motors, drives, encoders etc from major suppliers.
  • Experience with electrical/automation software, preferably E-PLAN.
  • Familiarity with Machinery safety directive and relevant safety legislation associated with special purpose machinery.
  • Ability to work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A focus on meeting project deadlines.
  • An ability to contribute to multiple concurrent jobs.
  • Good written and oral communication skills

For all the above you will be offered a basic salary of 30-35K great career progression opportunities and excellent company benefits.

The role is Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am – 12:30pm.
