GMP Recruitment are proud to partner a dynamic and forward-thinking technology company located in Kidderminster, specialising in the fields of automated electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical production and test systems. We are supporting their recruitment for a Business Development Executive to join their team on a full time, permanent contract.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate drive, enthusiasm, and great attention to detail to support the sales function within the business, with the potential for career progression in a growing team and company. You will be responsible for lead creation and qualification and will work closely with the sales team to support in delivering quotations to meet client requirements.

This position will be a mix of working in the office/home and being out on the road, visiting prospective new clients and spreading the skills, benefits and products of the company.

This position is perfect for an individual with an appropriate engineering degree or equivalent business sector experience, with great selling and presentation skills.


Business Development Executive main duties:

  • Supporting the sales team in client liaison and quotation preparation.
  • Contributing to quotations, material and technology specification and supplier suitability.
  • Contributing to external & internal sales-based meetings and discussions
  • Ensuring correct recording, tracking and execution of customer visits.
  • Facilitating excellent communication between clients, suppliers and QM staff.
  • Facilitating excellent communication between customer meetings
  • Contribute to the constant improvement philosophy at QM
  • Strong listening skills to ensure knowledge is retained
  • Strong presenting skills


Business Development Executive required skills and experience:

  • A background or qualification in an engineering discipline or manufacturing environment
  • Drive and ambition to break down barriers and open doors.
  • Exposure to a sales background
  • Experience in working to deadlines inside and outside of normal working hours.
  • Ability to take a leading role as an integral part of a sales team.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Strong organisational skills and good time management.
  • A focus on meeting project deadlines & budgets.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office primarily Excel, Project and Outlook.
  • Experience in 3D design for conceptual purposes
  • Social media experience
  • Good written skills for sentence construction and grammatical prowess.
  • Experience in new business generation withy success
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to produce call reports on time each month.


This position is working Monday – Friday 08:00am – 17:00pm with a 13:00pm finish on Friday. On offer is a highly competitive basic salary up to £40K, pending experience, plus car allowance, bonus scheme, pension contribution, life assurance and more!
