Rob started his career in the hospitality industry, working in 4–5 star hotels across the UK, France, and the US. He progressed into hotel management, where he developed strong leadership and people skills, as well as building key contacts within the industry. He later moved into recruitment and has spent the last 8 years specialising in candidate sourcing, client relationships, and end-to-end delivery. At GMP, he draws on his hospitality background to better understand both clients and candidates, helping him ensure strong, well-matched placements.
What Rob enjoys most about recruitment is the people aspect, understanding candidates’ skills, motivations, and goals, and matching them with the right opportunities. He finds it rewarding to see those connections benefit both candidates and employers. He also enjoys visiting different companies and seeing behind-the-scenes areas, which gives him valuable insight into how businesses operate, their cultures, and industries, enabling him to better advise both clients and candidates.
Recently, Rob has finished renovating a property, so much of his spare time is now focused on decorating and gardening. Outside of that, he enjoys cooking, going to the cinema, following sports, F1, Football & Rugby, and spending time with family and friends.
